From preserving animal skins with the fur on (as pictured above), to brain tanned buckskin, drum skins, and bark tanning using Black Wattle tree bark, you will have the chance to learn, (re)discover, and grow as we dive into one of the world's oldest crafts.... traditional tanning.

On the day you will also have the opportunity to get hands on and learn how to prepare a furskin. But don't worry, this is optional and you are welcome to watch the demonstration as we transform an ethically sourced animal fur into the beginning stages of preserving it as a fur rug.

**No previous knowledge required. We will be covering from the basic tools to various traditional tanning techniques and plenty of time for questions.

Hosted by CERES Environment Park, an old tip/ waste centre converted into a thriving education centre for people learning back to the land skills such as organic gardening, homesteading, nature connection and other tract

As a student you will not only receive a short booklet on how to do the various methods at home, but also foundational hands on knowledge in traditional tanning methods and practices.

What are you waiting for!? Come join The Bush Tannery for this 1 day intensive!
